Brandywine Valley Farm Aesthetic

MidAtlantic successfully delivered three retail buildings totaling 100,000 SF, anchored by a 55,000 SF Whole Foods Market and was one of the initial Ellis Preserve developments. The project’s design was inspired by the historic barns characteristic of the Brandywine Valley, blending rustic charm with modern functionality. The architectural style was achieved using a mix of materials and textures, including varying planes of standing seam metal panels, aluminum, large-format glazing, faux wood siding, stone veneer, masonry, sliding barn doors, and exposed steel. These elements were installed over a rainscreen insulation and moisture barrier system to ensure durability and energy efficiency.

The project included landlord shell construction for a diverse mix of tenants, such as Ulta Beauty, Pennsylvania Fine Wine & Spirits Store, First Watch Restaurant, Zoe’s Kitchen, MOD Pizza, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, AT&T, and FedEx. Each tenant space was built to specific design requirements while maintaining the cohesive aesthetic of the development. This project demonstrates MidAtlantic’s ability to execute complex, multi-tenant retail developments with precision, meeting the needs of diverse clients while creating a visually striking and functional destination for the community.
