Phased Dealership & Service Renovations
Franchise Rebranding Projects
Faulkner Automotive Group
James Necker Architect
Renovated the existing Faulkner Hyundai Dealership on the Boulevard to the new Hyundai design standards. The occupied, multi-phased renovation was performed around the ongoing sales and service operations. The showroom was completed in three phases (south side, north side and back of house) and the service writers & drop off renovation was performed in 3 phases.
Renovation and integration of two existing buildings into a single, unified showroom, complemented by a new 34,000 SF service building addition. The project was executed while the dealership remained fully operational, with a strong focus on maintaining customer safety, preserving clear sightlines, and ensuring uninterrupted functionality of the service department. Built to Toyota’s required HGI design standards, the project included all new interior finishes, structural modifications, and upgraded mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The result is a modern, cohesive dealership that enhances both operational efficiency and the customer experience.
This renovation project involved the complete transformation of an existing CDJR dealership into a fully branded and corporate-compliant Nissan dealership. A major component of the project was the extensive site improvement package, which included the complete reconstruction of a significantly sloped site. More than 20,000 cubic yards of earth were excavated to accommodate new retaining walls, underground stormwater detention basins, upgraded site lighting, and full-depth paving, creating a less sloped, more functional and visually appealing environment. The new exterior façade features sleek ACM panel cladding, curtainwall systems, and aluminum storefront elements, delivering a modern and brand-aligned aesthetic. Inside, the dealership was reimagined both aesthetically and functionally, with enhancements that meet Nissan’s corporate standards while improving customer sightlines and the overall service experience.
This project involves selective sitework and comprehensive renovations to both the interior and exterior of the existing Faulkner Volvo facility in Trevose, PA. The total scope of work encompasses 3,085 SF, including a full renovation of the existing 2,855 SF showroom and the enclosure of an additional 290 SF under an existing canopy. The project also includes restoration of the exterior cladding on the adjacent Volvo Service building, enhancing the overall appearance and aligning the facility with current Volvo brand standards.
The existing Faulkner Hyundai site was redeveloped to accommodate a new, 7,500 SF Hyundai dealership, completed on a fast-track schedule in May 2013. The project featured a full ground-up construction effort, with the new building envelope designed to meet Hyundai’s corporate branding standards, including a sleek ACM-clad exterior. The interior layout includes a private General Manager’s office, multiple sales and finance offices, an internet lounge, and a spacious multimedia conference center—all tailored to support modern dealership operations and customer engagement. A complete interior finish package was provided in full compliance with Hyundai’s design guidelines. Additionally, all new HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems were installed to meet current building codes and ensure long-term functionality.
