We Came for the Golf, Stayed for the Laughs

The expansion project at Manufacturer’s Golf & Country Club seamlessly blends modern construction with the timeless charm of its 19th-century stone clubhouse, originally chartered in 1887. This 5,860 SF renovation features a double-height glass enclosed addition with a state-of-the-art bar, expanded patio, and elegant wine room with private wine lockers, creating a warm and inviting space for members to relax and gather. The original stone façade serves as the centerpiece of the new bar, requiring significant exposed structural steel shoring elements to support the openings in the century-old walls. A solar-tinted glass wall system encloses the bar, providing an open, airy atmosphere that draws the eye toward breathtaking valley views and the expansive golf course. An operable glass partition wall seamlessly connect the bar to the newly expanded patio, fostering an indoor-outdoor experience. The patio expansion required structural concrete retaining walls to increase its elevation, which were clad in Wissahickon Schist stone to match the historic building. The Patio features bluestone pavers, ambient lighting, and a dining area overlooking the 18th finishing hole. Refreshed finishes, expanded patio, and a new ADA-compliant restroom further enhance the functionality and appeal of this thoughtfully executed project.
