MidAtlantic constructed a 4-story, 226,600 SF precast concrete, mixed-use parking garage at Suburban Square, a bustling shopping destination in Ardmore, PA. The project presented significant logistical challenges due to its location in the heart of a densely populated and fully operational shopping complex. With proximity to adjacent structures, the project required extensive shoring measures and precise coordination, as all access was limited to Montgomery Avenue. The schedule and site logistics were carefully evaluated to ensure bordering streets, sidewalks, parking areas, and buildings remained open and fully accessible throughout construction. To enable the construction of an underground parking level, the team utilized an engineered rod and shotcrete system, providing critical shoring to adjacent structures. This innovative solution allowed the garage to directly abut existing sidewalks and buildings in areas where traditional over-dig or double-sided concrete formwork was not feasible.

MidAtlantic provided comprehensive services, including site logistics, utility coordination, installation of underground stormwater basins, crane road development, and foundation work. The project also included the installation of elevators, MEP systems, and the on-site management of over 1,000 precast concrete components, ensuring safe delivery, staging, and erection. This highly technical project was delivered successfully, supporting the growth and functionality of one of the region's most iconic retail hubs.
